Grab your slides and get ready, because this is the Recording King RG31 lap steel guitar. It's the ideal instrument for playing Hawaiian tunes and bluegrass, as well as country and blues music. Contrary to a regular guitar, the lap steel is placed flat on its back, either on a table or on your lap (hence the name). As such, this instrument doesn't have you pressing down on any frets. Instead, you play it by sliding a metal (or glass) tube over the strings to create that typical, bright slide guitar sound.

The Recording King RG31's construction The RG31 lap steel guitar features an Alnico P-90 single coil pickup to amplify its sound. It allows for a bright, sparkling tone that combines nicely with the richness and warmth of the mahogany body.
Furthermore, it features a string-through-body construction for a more direct sound, as well as enhanced sustain - meaning the notes you play will keep on ringing for a good while. The Recording King RG31 also features a volume knob and a tone knob that allow you to quickly and easily adjust the sound to your liking.

Lap steel with vintage looks With its matte lacquer and open tuners, the Recording King RG31 has a tough, vintage look. Moreover, thanks to the bolted on neck and its synthetic, pearloid fretboard, it looks as if it came straight out of the 1930s!
